Following Hum Tum, Another Must-Watch Akshay Kumar Film Re-Releases in Theaters!

Another well-loved Bollywood classic is about to make a comeback to the big screen after Hum Tum, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, was scheduled for a theatrical re-release on May 16. On May 23, the digitally restored version of the classic love drama Dhadkan, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Shilpa Shetty, will return to theaters.

 

Dhadkan's poignant plot and evocative soundtrack made a lasting impression when it was first published on August 11, 2000. The film, which was directed by Dharmesh Darshan, is about Anjali (Shilpa Shetty), who falls deeply in love with Dev (Suniel Shetty), a wealthy but passionate man. Her affluent family, however, disapproves of the match and sets her up with Ram (Akshay Kumar), a prosperous, compassionate, and kind guy. Dev resurfaces in Anjali's life as she slowly starts to love her husband, creating a heartbreaking love triangle that enthralled viewers.

 

With themes of love, self-improvement, and sacrifice, Dhadkan became a huge box office hit, grossing almost Rs 26 crore worldwide. But its music was its greatest asset. The music, which was written by Sameer and composed by the renowned combo Nadeem–Shravan, became the second best-selling album of the year, only surpassed by Mohabbatein. Dhadkan remains a musical gem in Bollywood history, with songs like "Dil Ne Yeh Kaha Hai Dil Se" and "Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein" being beloved by fans.

 

Fans will now have the opportunity to relive the magic in theaters after almost 25 years. A newly restored version of the movie will be re-released in a few Indian cinemas, offering both new and devoted viewers an improved visual and aural experience.

 

A talented supporting cast, which included Sharmila Tagore, Parmeet Sethi, Kiran Kumar, Sushma Seth, and Manjeet Kullar, also contributed to the film's emotional depth.
