James Cameron reveals tentative release date of Avatar 3 amid ongoing post-production!

Avatar: The Way of Water's box office success was leveraged by James Cameron and Jon Landau, who revealed plans for the third instalment. Filming for the next installment, which will likely be called Avatar 3, has already begun. Interest in the Avatar series surged as a result of the second movie's huge box office success and extremely positive reviews.

 

James Cameron, speaking at a TV New Zealand event, revealed “We’re into a very hectic two years of post-production right now, so it’ll be Christmas of ’25.” Citing advantageous tax incentives, Cameron pledged to shoot all of his upcoming projects in New Zealand, where he intends to obtain citizenship in the near future.

 

Avatar 3 will face battle against an Untitled WB Event Film at the box office, with its release timed to coincide with Universal Pictures' Wicked: Part Two by one week.

 

Cameron hinted to the addition of the element of fire and the inclusion of two new tribes in Avatar 3 during the Critics Choice Awards. Details about the film's symbolic use of fire are purposefully withheld, but it is expected to represent a particular civilization.
