Deepak Tijori opens up about VIRAL misconstrued statement on Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh!

Deepak Tijori recently made headlines after his remarks against Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh quickly went viral. He disclosed in an interview that he was seeking assistance for cameos in his movie Pehla Nasha from his celebrity pals, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and others. However, he was taken aback when Amrita, the Salaam Namaste star's ex-wife, prevented him from going.

 

Deepak acknowledged that his statement was misunderstood in a media briefing. He also conveyed his dissatisfaction about the incorrect presentation of his statement.

 

Speaking about his remarks made regarding Amrita Singh, Deepak Tijori explained that they were taken out of context. In response to a question about how he gathered so many performers for the Pehla Nasha premiere scene, he said that they were all friends and encouraged one another.

 

Telling the story, Deepak revealed, “When Saif Ali Khan was getting ready, Amrita Singh asked him where he was going. To which he said, ‘I am going to shoot for the premiere scene in Deepak’s film’. At this, Amrita replied, ‘Kya baat hai. Your generation of actors is different. We never supported one another in such a manner. Aap logon ki dosti ko manna padega.’”

 

Deepak went on to clarify that he never claimed Amrita had prevented Saif from attending the premiere. He went on to say that the actress's sole surprise was the closeness between Saif and the other actors, since throughout her time, they had not supported one another. Deepak went on to describe Amrita as a great woman and a sweetheart. “She has always been supportive of everybody as an actor. I have not worked with her. However, for us, her debut film Betaab (1983) was the ultimate film. I must have seen it a hundred times,” Deepak further added.

 

In addition to being Deepak Tijori's first leading role in a movie, Pehla Nasha also marked Ashutosh Gowariker's directorial debut. In addition to Deepak Tijori, the film featured Paresh Rawal, Pooja Bhatt, and Raveena Tandon in important parts. The movie featured cameos from Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Rahul Roy.
